Weekly Sailing Races are back at the GSYC, only now, they’re stress-free!
Open to both GSYC members and lake sailors who want to participate, the starting line is in front of our club, on either Saturday or Sunday mornings at 11:00 am.
Both members and non-members must email the GSYC Fleet Captain (by using the Contact form) to participate, so there is an accurate boat count and Race Committee boat coverage.
Skippers looking for crew are matched with those having an interest in the event.
How does it work?
Three buoys are set in a triangular course. All class boats are included. Scoring is like a golf handicapping system. A boat’s past performance determines its placement in the following race. At the end of the season, trophies are awarded.
Read the Lake Hopatcong News Article, published in their Midsummer 2020 issue for all the details.
There’s something beautiful, peaceful, and exciting about watching sailboats heeling and tacking with the forces of the wind. Come and see for yourself.
To contact the GSYC Fleet Captain about racing, email him using the Join/Contact form. Please “Weekly Sailboat Race” or “Attention: Fleet Captain”.
