IT TOOK A VILLAGE
Come learn first-hand how women working together accomplished the impossible.
On July 9th ” The Ladies of GSYC” are invited to hear the incredible story
of how “The Ladies of Haworth N.J.” fought for the release of their
neighbor’s husband, journalist Omoyele Sowore, from a Nigerian prison.
Accused of organizing a protest against the government, he was
imprisoned for more than four years,
Haworth ‘s Councilwoman Alanna Zahn Davis, formerly of Livingston, will
share with us how this difficult and frightening journey transpired.
It is truly a tale of how the persistence of a few women, from a very small
community, believed “that to save one life is to save the world.” This story
was on CNN and told by many news outlets including the New York Times.
Please join us on July 9th for this incredible event. Our thanks to Ila Press
for arranging this program.
Susan Mandelbaum, GSYC Ladies President
Hosts: Beverly Feldman, Audrey Fraenkel, Marsh Nagelberg
