The GSYC offers the most complete schedule of entertainment during the summer season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Off season events are held both at the GSYC or off-premise.

Summer weekends begin with informal Friday night entertainment.  Events can vary wildly–from listening to quiet jazz at dinnertime to attending a wine tasting.  We have a yearly recital by young world-class from Julliard artists, several game nights, and talks from experts on any number of subjects.

Saturday evenings are the time for dining, dancing, theme parties, and all kinds of entertainers.  Dress code for Saturday evenings are generally country club casual.

Holiday weekends are highlighted by the Memorial Day dance, the Nautical Ball on the 4th of July, the Commodore’s Ball on Labor Day, and a New Year’s Eve celebration.  Dress for the Nautical Ball means red, white and blue, while the Commodore’s Ball and New Year’s Eve events are more formal.

Fun family events include Father’s Day Brunch indoors and summer holiday picnics,  with entertainment always geared to the younger crowd.  Youngsters enjoy watching magicians or having faces tattooed or painted.  Daytime family fun mostly means lots of time playing in the pool or hours spent enjoying lake swimming and water sports.

Sunday afternoons at the pool are special.  Live acoustic music and Happy Hour makes the afternoon even more cordial.

Off season, the fun continues with occasional theme parties, the Foreign Film Festival, Halloween Party, Super Bowl Party, Valentine’s Day Dance, and Mothers’ Day Dance.  Additionally, off season is the time of year when the Club takes trips to theater parties, regional museums, or other points of interest.
